Tablinum

PROCESS + DESIGN

these are initial sketches - i was mainly focusing on minimal space according to its function. the roof was curved lower in the sleeping and studying areas because there was no need for a standing height there, and higher in the centre.

the location was on the third floor just near the toilets near the library. i chose this space because i thought it was wasted space that also had a good view of the bay.

the outside of the capsule provided enough privacy with horizontal slats with spaces inbetween; creating a private yet open space - not claustrophobic. there was a gap in the roof where the wall is to allow a decent amount of natural light to enter.
