Minima: Initial Ideas

IDEA 1: Inspired by a tent or hammock, this idea uses pieces of canvas in tension to create the walls to enclose the space. But the problems with this idea was how to contain the services, and how to allow light to enter the space.

IDEA 2: Using the site with the raised platform with the two rows of trees on Gheringhap Street, to create levels within the design. But height of platform not high enough, so I moved onto the sloping sites overlooking the water to cantilever the building from this slope, but also found the slope to not be steep or high enough the allow for this. I also start to explore cluster of boxes, which brings me to idea 3.
INFLUENCE TO IDEA 3: Furniture from 'Melbourne Home: Design & Living' Magazine, Issue 4.

IDEA 3: Cluster of boxes. Problem with this idea was the plan was too similar to a caravan, which I wanted to avoid.

Idea 4: Using a chair featured in the top left hand corner as inspiration. But again the form and floor plan of this idea was too similar to that of a caravan.
POTENTIAL SITE: Rows of trees of platform on Gheringhap Street next to Deakin.
